To optimise the availability and productivity of drinking and waste-water treatment systems, systems for remote diagnosis and remote maintenance are playing an increasingly important role. In 80% of the cases, the issue can be resolved remotely. If on-site maintenance is still required, the list of potential errors can usually be narrowed by remote maintenance and the required spare parts can be ordered in advance. For remote maintenance, a system is accessed for a limited time for a precisely described purpose. This approach offers considerable potential for savings in maintenance and service work.

Warning messages via text messages or email for precisely defined system errors or events help to initiate the troubleshooting immediately and reduce downtime.

Solutions suitable for companies without large IT department

The communication is mostly via mobile radio technology (3G); elaborate cabling is no longer necessary. According to our experience, almost everywhere the mobile phone network coverage is of sufficient quality for the application. The pre-configuration of the components allows commissioning to be almost automatic. In this way, solutions can be implemented that are particularly suitable for medium-sized companies without large IT departments. Alternatively, wire-bound solutions can be used over DSL connections.

Remote maintenance and data security are not a contradiction: A combination of technologies (firewall, VPN, identification and encryption) protects your systems against unauthorised access.
